Too Rich, Too Thin…Too Many Processor Cores?

The Artist’s Way: A Beautiful Silver 8-Core Computer Guru Powerhouse

A photographer specializing in dreamlike infrared images needed a powerful desktop system for Adobe Photoshop image storage and editing, and printing out her work in a production environment on a huge and expensive Epson Photo Printer (don’t complain about $29 ink cartridges — this thing has eight ink cartridges costing about $100 each!).

I built her this lovely silver digital imaging workstation with an 8-core processor (most systems have two or four cores), lots of RAM, a fast Solid State Drive for the operating system and applications, along with two additional fast hard drives for data storage (that’s a total of 5TB of storage in a modestly-sized box).  A new high-tech Microsoft “Wedge Touch Mouse” (take that, Apple Magic Mouse!), a matching silver sound system with subwoofer, and fast Comcast Internet Access make for a very productive, cost-effective, and attractive computing tool.

Don’t try this on an iPad, kids!
